Veriant Solutions is actively seeking a Point Of Sale (POS) Field Engineer to provide onsite support service to restaurants, working on point of sale systems, printers, CAT-5 cable and IT systems.
This is a mobile service position, on call from home.
Experience should include CAT-5 cable, PC build, PC break/fix and knowledge of MS technologies.
What You Bring:
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Be able to work independently and have excellent time management skills, as well as good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to apply critical thinking and customer service mindset to make quick decisions independently.
- At least one year of experience in the hardware and software break/fix and repair.
- Self-motivated individuals that have the discipline to work on their own with minimal follow up.
- Ability to listen and communicate with the customers and Help Desk regarding the service call.
- Inventory management skills.
- Ability to do minor construction type work such has drilling holes and mounting brackets.
- Availability to run service calls during business hours, nights and weekends.
- Clean background , DMV record, and drug screen.
What You'll Do:
- Possess a customer-centric attitude while maintaining a high customer service satisfaction rating.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair POS devices, peripherals, units and networks at the customer site.
- Identify, analyze, and repair hardware, software and network failures.
- Hardware, software and network installation services.
- On-call emergency support service when needed.
- Provide customer service on the phone and in person.
- Educate customers on preventative maintenance best practices.
- Manage company inventory of parts required to maintain customer equipment, as well as a company vehicle.
